About the Dorchester Arts Collaborative

The Dorchester Arts Collaborative was founded in 2002 to develop and facilitate arts programming in Dorchester and to cultivate the social, cultural, and economic enrichment of Boston's largest and most diverse neighborhood. DAC is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization.

Current Projects

  • Dorchester Open Studios - Dorchester Open Studios - DAC coordinates the annual Dorchester Open Studios event, which will be held this year on, October 25 & 26. Noon-5pm. Reception October 24 at 6:30 p.m. Location TBA.

  • Peabody Square Public Art Project
    DAC received a planning grant to administer a large public art project to coincide with the renovation of the Ashmont T Station and the redesign of Peabody Square. After a thoughtful review of twenty proposals from all over the region, Dorchester sculptor Joe Wheelwright was chosen for the commission. See this press release for details.

    Fundraising continues, and we hope to install this piece sometime in 2008.
