Bob Marley, Jamaican musician named Musician of the Century by Time Magazine, bringing his prophetic vision to the U.S. against a Boston night sky. The back-up singers of Judy Mowatt, Marcia Griffiths and his wife, Rita Marley, are all world-celebrated musicians with their own solo acts. The design of their skirts are woven into the rhythm of the landscape, indicative of their origin and inspiration from the land of Jamaica.
I was born and lived in Jamaica until my junior year in high school, and grew up on reggae's message of social justice and questioning history and tradition.
