Statement

Dot Art’s goals are:
1. To empower individual children, adults, and teens by enhancing their abilities to think visually and to practice creative problem-solving techniques;
2. To unite diverse groups within the Dorchester community around the processes and products of visual art making;
3. To build meaningful connections between the Dorchester community and major cultural institutions.

Our founding philosophy and continuing motivation is that the arts and the art-making process – observation, planning, production, revising and exhibition – are powerful tools of self-growth that promote communication across boundaries of age, race, class, geography or religion, affecting positive personal and community change.
