Statement

Amatul Hannan is an African American/ Lithuanian/ Irish performance artist, Designer, and Producer. Her work is closely linked to social justice, co-existance and diversity. Passions include the use of multi-media and new technologies in community organizing, costume, ritual, and a healthy respect for the Earth.

As a performance artist and poet Amatul has appeared in the Mardi Gras of Sydney Australia, Salons in Montreal Canada & Manhattan NY, and performance art centers throughout New England including : the Museum of Fine Arts of Boston, Harvard Film Archive, The Brattle Theater, The ICA, Boston Center for the Arts, Harriet Tubman Gallery, Cambridge City Hall, Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center, and other fine sites. Her education includes study and research at Tufts, SMFA Boston & Mel King's MIT Community Fellows program.
