Statement

I am interested in the narrative that is created by working with figures. I like to break up form and put it back together again. Sometimes I make an abstraction of color and the figures emerge from there. Other times I use a model or photographic reference. What gets me is when an artist can get the paint to carry emotional content. My favorite painter is Willem DeKooning, but I also love the bay area figurative artists.
